2023 Seven Hills Grenache
Seven Hills Grenache
2023 • 100% Grenache • Seven Hills Vineyard • Walla Walla Valley
Seven Hills Vineyard was initially planted in 1980 making it one of the oldest existing vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley. It's also one of the largest at around 200 acres, making it an important source for many producers in the area. We've released a few wines from the vineyard over the years, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, but this is our first Grenache from the site. It comes from the Southwest facing hillside of a foothill immediately to the north of the larger ridge where Grosgrain Vineyard is located. This site has deeper soils and less wind, resulting in a wine with a firm, yet slightly softer structure and a brighter, red-fruited profile.
Deep ruby colored and structured with dusty tannin, bright acidity and layered aromas of cherry kirsch, raspberry, garrigue and crushed granite.
Aged 11 months in neutral French Oak barrels.
