Grosgrain Vineyard • Walla Walla Valley

This is the second release from our other property 15 minutes to the south on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla Valley: Grosgrain Vineyard. 650 feet higher in elevation than our winery and planted into shallow soils on top of fractured basalt, Grosgrain Vineyard is a whole different animal. There is a certain minerality in wines from volcanic regions (Sicily, Campania, Canary Islands, etc) and this wine has it in spades.  A light red, yet more structured than Carignan from Old Milton Vineyard. This wine is approachable now, but should have a long life ahead of it.

Translucent pale ruby hue with refreshing acidity and aromas of strawberry, rhubarb, exotic spice and purple sage.
