This release marks the return of our Rojo, but unlike the 2020 vintage which was a tiny production sourced form a microblock at Philips Vineyard, the 2022 is entirely sourced from a larger planting at Les Collines Vineayrd. A blend of 91% Tempranillo and 9% Grenache, this wine is our tribute to the blends found in Rioja. Whereas many Riojas are aged in new American oak, Rojo is aged in older French oak, bringin a much more subtly oak character, while leasning more on the classic aromas of Tempranillo, which are given lift from the contribution of Grenache (or Granacha as the Spanish would say).
Medium ruby hue with firm, fine-grained tannins and aromas of pomegranate, black cherry, baking spice and sweet tobacco.
Aged 17 months in neutral French oak barrels.
