Kiona Vineyard was the first to be planted on Red Mountain and the block of Lemberger that we work with was amongst the first plantings there in 1976.  Once considered a potential signature grape for Washington, there are now believed to be only about 40 acres planted in the State.  Red Mountain is known as a warm region, but the old block of Lemberger is located in a lower, cooler pocket of the vineyard that tends to ripen much later and better retain acidity.  

 

Our 2022 Lemberger Blanc de noir has vigorous bubbles and pale brassy hue, with aromas of strawberry, peach, melon and a mineral backbone.
