Kiona Vineyard was the first to be planted on Red Mountain and the block of Lemberger that we work with was amongst the first plantings there in 1976.  Once considered a potential signature grape for Washington, there are now believed to be only about 50 acres planted in the State.  Red Mountain is known as a warm region, but the old block of Lemberger is located in a lower, cooler pocket of the vineyard that tends to ripen much later and better retain acidity.  

 

Our 2021 Lemberger Pétillant Naturel has vigorous bubbles and very pale persimmon hue, lighter than past vintages, with aromas of fresh strawberry, pomegranate, aperol spritz and a mineral backbone.
